Action for Healthy Kids
Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) is a nationwide initiative dedicated to improving the health and educational performance of children through better nutrition and physical activity in schools. This effort represents a response to our nation's epidemic of overweight, sedentary, and undernourished children and adolescents.

American Dietetic Association - Food and Nutrition Information
With nearly 6,000 members, the American Dietetic Association is the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. ADA serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being. The site provides a wealth of nutrition information including Nutrition Fact Sheets, Healthy Lifestyle Features, a Good Nutrition Reading List, and a Find a Nutrition Professional search feature.

Body by Milk
Body by Milk is using the power of music and athletics to continue educating teens about the health benefits of drinking milk and encouraging them to drink milk, eat right, and stay active.

Child Nutrition Home Page
Provides information about the various Child Nutrition Programs administered by the USDA, including the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.

International Food Information Council Foundation
IFIC's mission is to communicate science-based information on food safety and nutrition to health and nutrition professionals, educators, journalists, government officials and others providing information to consumers. The site includes food safety and nutrition information, "Food Insight" newsletter, online ordering of IFIC publications (many of which are available for free) and special sections for educators, journalists, consumers, and students.

Mayo Clinic
Provides comprehensive health information based on the experience and knowledge of the more than 2,000 physicians and scientists of Mayo Clinic. The Food & Nutrition Center includes information on the food pyramid, dietary guidelines, organic foods, healthy cooking, and food safety.

Milk Matters Calcium Education Campaign
Milk Matters is a nationwide campaign dedicated to increasing calcium consumption among America's children and teens. Milk Matters focuses on educating people about the importance of calcium for building strong and healthy bones. The site provides access to health research, media releases, and publications and materials from the campaign.

My Pyramid
The access point for the USDA food guidance system. Contains the latest news, background information, and resources about the food guidance system to allows consumers to get started on a personalized MyPyramid tool for a healthy eating and exercise plan.

National Dairy Council
A leader in nutrition research and information, NDC provides timely, scientifically sound nutrition information on the health benefits of milk, cheese and yogurt.

National Osteoporosis Foundation
This site offers comprehensive information about osteoporosis, including risk factors, symptoms, prevalence among men and women, tips on prevention, and approved medications for the prevention and/or treatment of the disease.

Nutrient Rich Foods Coalition
The Nutrient Rich Foods Coalition website offers fast and reliable information to help you eat the nutrient-rich way—that means getting the most vitamins, minerals and other nutrients—but not too many calories—from the foods you choose. The information here is based on nutrition guidelines from the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) MyPyramid.

Nutrition Explorations
With sections targeted towards educators, parents, and school foodservice, this site is all about making good nutrition a fun part of kids' lives. The site offers fun nutrition-related activities for kids, tips for parents on how to stock a healthy kitchen, activities and materials for teachers to use in the classroom, and articles and other resources for sprucing up school menus.

Powerful Bones
Powerful girls have powerful bones! This girl-friendly Web site helps girls understand how weight-bearing physical activity and calcium can be a fun (and important!) part of everyday life. The site is part of the National Bone Health Campaign, founded by the Office on Women's Health within the Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Osteoporosis Foundation. The site's key features include interactive games and quizzes, recipes for tasty foods with calcium, and ideas to help girls get plenty of weight-bearing physical activity.

School Nutrition Association
The School Nutrition Association (formerly American School Food Service Association) is a national, nonprofit professional organization representing more than 55,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. The Association works to ensure all children have access to healthful school meals and nutrition education.

Team Nutrition (USDA)
Team Nutrition is an initiative of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to support the Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical assistance for foodservice, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school and community support for healthy eating and physical activity. Team Nutrition's goal is to improve children's lifelong eating and physical activity habits by using the principles of the Dietary Guides for Americans and the Food Guide Pyramid.

UW Cooperative Extension - Wisconsin School Breakfast
Resources for school foodservice professionals, parents and school administrators providing support, research based information to improve school breakfast meal service and encourage student participation.
